LINDA HERZER
SHE/HER/HERS

From 2012-2015, Rev. Linda Herzer served a church with a large transgender population. This resulted in her learning much about gender diverse people, becoming an active ally, and authoring The Bible and the Transgender Experience: How Scripture Supports Gender Variance, (Pilgrim Press, 2016).

Linda has co-facilitated support groups for trans individuals and their loved ones, including the parents and spouses of trans and non-binary children and adults. She was honored to be made an honorary member of the Atlanta chapter of Tri-Ess, an international organization for cross-dressers, and to receive the Georgia Diversity Council’s 2020 LGBTQ+ Ally Award.

Linda is a seasoned trainer and curriculum developer. Prior to becoming a trans advocate, she had a 10-year career as a public school library media specialist. During her seminary years, Linda did inclusion training while working in the Office of Women’s Concerns, and designed the curriculum for the seminary’s course on Women in Ministry. She is a certified Breathwork Coach and a Life Coach.

Linda holds a BA in History from Tufts University, a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Masters in Library Media from Georgia State University. She is the proud mother of one adult daughter and lives in Atlanta.
